Age 14-19 (high school). Must be able to demonstrate a Red Cross level 5 swimming ability.
Date and Time: Tuesday - Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm
Classes begin August 28th - December 7th, 2023
Closed for Holiday (No Classes) for the following dates
● Monday, September 4th (Labor Day)
● Mon & Tues, October 9-10 (University Fall Break)
● Wednesday - Sunday, November 22 - 26 (University Thanksgiving Break)

Location: Andreasen Center for Wellness 8750 West Campus Circle Drive
Age 14 and younger. Must be able to swim a full lap on front and on back with NO assistance or about a Level 4+ Swimming Ability. If a student is 14-19 and can demonstrate at least a level 5 swimming ability, we recommend joining the Stingrays Swim Club.
Date and Time: Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm

South Shore Health and Racquet Club: Stroke Clinic Fall 2023
September 13th - January 10th
16 wks *no class December 27th
Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 PM
Also must register directly with the Club at 429-2101
Stroke Clinic focuses on technique for the 4 competitive strokes Freestyle (front crawl) , Breaststroke, Back Crawl and Butterfly and developing endurance. Students will work drills for each stroke breaking down the components of each to increase their efficiency. Introduction to starts, turns and finishes will be touched upon as well. Students must be able to swim 25yrds of Freestyle (front crawl) and 25 yards of Back Crawl to participate.

*You must attend a minimum of 3 times a week, practice or a scheduled swim event. This class requires a self-paid YMCA membership.
**Days and times for classes may change, please contact the YMCA for days and times.** Attendance must begin in September.

Swim club is open to ages 5–8 who can complete one length of both freestyle and backstroke and ages 9–18 who can complete two lengths of both freestyle and backstroke
*Students should bring appropriate swim attire and goggles.
****Parents cannot stay in class with the student, it is drop off only. They are welcome to attend 'Watch Me Swim' days as offered, and they can stay in the lobby to observe the lessons, but they can't be in the pool area.

*Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.
