Project Based Learning Electives provided by the Berrien Springs Virtual Academy
Midwest Performance Academy Spring 2022
Vince Strefling
p1jumphigher@gmail.com
Grades 8-12
Please contact Midwest Performance Academy to register. The partnership will cover a maximum of $400 for instructional time only. Families are responsible for all competition fees and any other remaining fees. Classes begin in September 1-1.5 hours each.
By selecting this option, families agree to submit attendance for their student before count day and within one week of each semester's end.
MPA has one of the best jump/SAQ training systems in the country. Increasing your ability to jump high can help to set you apart from the competition and allow you to excel in sports like basketball, volleyball, and football. Exploding off of the ground and high into the air requires a combination of power, force, and strength. Our program cultivates these aspects through plyometric exercises, resistance training, and core exercises which can help to increase your jump by 6 to 14 inches. Also, we will work on sport specific technique to develop muscle memory for setting and hitting for volleyball and shooting for basketball.

*Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.
