OR
Tuesdays 10:00 - 11:45 AM
Are you ready to begin your glass fusing education? The foundation for all hot glass working starts here. Glass fusing is the process of using a kiln to manipulate glass under heat. Good news, it's easy to learn the basics of fusing glass. It's also challenging, fun, the possibilities are endless! It’s CREATIVE. Create like you never thought you could. You will take your art skills to a higher level with the knowledge of glass fusing. Projects may include: coaster, plate, bowl, sun catcher, soap dish, pendant, key chain, night light, tile etc... We'll learn safety and start our first glass cutting project on the first day. This class will qualify you to take Fusing Glass Intermediate.
*Please note: If the student has a blood clotting disorder the parent or guardian must stay during ALL classes.
If this class is dropped before the end of count month a $35 fee will be charged per class attended.
Syllabus
Glassic Fusion
Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:45 PM
What is Glassics Fusion? It is the bringing together of glass fusing and ceramic arts. Students will learn how to design molds form clay, and then use those ceramic molds to create glass fused art. The creative thinking in this class will help students develop new art skills that result in their own one-of-a-kind art creations! This class may be repeated; skills will be built upon.
*Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.
