Collage Fall 2022
|
Jon Whidden jon@ruskets.com 269-782-8809 YouTube Channel 9480 Columbia Rd., Dowagiac, MI Classes begin in September Class times are arranged with groups of students in 2-hour blocks of time. Grades K-12 Additional registration at the location is required. Classes meet weekly at the instructor’s home studio outside of Eau Claire. Class times will be arranged with the instructor following registration. |
Class description: Over the course of the semester, students will learn to create compelling, interesting and unique imagery using recycled print matter and other found materials, with styles ranging from the abstract to photorealistic.
Artists of any age and skill level can become proficient in the techniques involved, so collage-making is a great alternative for those aspiring artists who either aren’t proficient or interested in traditional painting and drawing. Yet it is also a good way for more experienced artists to expand their range of skills or get out of a rut.
In addition to the finished pieces, successful students will leave class with a mastery of the value scale, a keen eye for detail, and a
fuller appreciation for a satisfying and effective artistic medium that is all too often overlooked.
Classes meet weekly at the instructor's home studio outside of Eau Claire, from January to March.
*Family or friend groups with 3 or more students may make arrangements with the instructor for alternate locations, such as at-home class sessions.

*Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.
